The term can also be used for a relation to animals or objects. In a broader sense  Love stands for an ethic conviction (altruism) or loving yourself (narcissism). Love is an emotion and even more an inner attitude of a positive, heartfelt and deep bond to one person, which exceeds the pure functionality of an interpersonal relation and is usually expressed by active devotion and strong emotions for the partner. Generally there is no distinction between deep emotional bonds within a family (parental love), deep congeniality or physical desires (sexual love). Even though the latter is closely connected to sexuality it is not mandatory in every case (platonic love). Today difference in age does not play an important role anymore. As an old proverb states: love goes where love will go. Many young women fall in love with more mature partners, because they eradicate more security. Mature men feel drawn towards the youthfulness, dynamics and beauty of young women. Age difference is an evolutionary concept as this combination brings forth more viable children, according to a scandinavian survey.
